Plane Graveyard

A study of abandoned aircraft transformed by time, where weathered shells, exposed machinery, and grounded forms become monuments to ambition, flight, and decline.

Artist Statement

Machines built to conquer the sky, left to surrender to the earth.

THE PLANE GRAVEYARD explores what remains when the promise of flight ends. Aircraft once engineered for movement and precision have been stripped, dismantled and left behind. Their shells, open cockpits, wiring, engines and weathered skins now occupy an immense, quiet plain.

Through photographic transformation, I remove the distractions of the original surroundings and place these remnants in a spare landscape of dry grass and gray sky. The machines become solitary objects, monuments to ambition, use, abandonment and time. What was designed to rise now belongs to the ground.
